Mungia Spain

Located in a temperate valley near the coast, and very well connected to Bilbao and Loiu airport, this town is constantly growing in both the industrial and tertiary sectors. The municipality is composed of a core population and nine neighborhoods with their own personality, and has various architectural treasures that deserve to be visited. Between the civil architecture, two buildings stand out: the town hall, a beautiful construction with Baroque and Gothic elements and a wide arcade with arches of half a point, and the old Tower-house of Torrebillela. Of medieval origin, it has been rebuilt on numerous occasions and today houses the house of culture. Although, without a doubt, the Fuente de la Concordia is one of the most emblematic monuments of the municipality. Located next to Torrebillela, it is the symbol of harmony, agreement and dialogue. As for the religious heritage, we must mention the Gothic church of San Pedro, rebuilt in the sixteenth century and remodeled on numerous occasions throughout its history. If we go into the surroundings of the town, we will find many temples in the neighborhoods that make up the municipality. For example, the hermitage of San Miguel de Zumetzaga, located on the slopes of Mount Jata (600 m) and surrounded by an oak forest, is one of the jewels of Romanesque. Rectangular in plan, it stands out for the vain of the apse, which to the outside appears decorated with double archivolt.
